Questions

What people ask before they use this tool.

How does the image watermarking work?
The tool uses the HTML5 Canvas API to overlay your watermark (text or image) onto the uploaded picture. Watermarking runs in your browser, and images are not uploaded to our servers during processing.
Can I use an image as a watermark?
Yes. Switch to "Image" mode and upload a logo or any PNG/JPEG/WebP file. You can adjust its opacity, position, rotation, and size just like a text watermark.
What is tile mode?
Tile mode repeats your watermark across the entire image with configurable spacing and rotation. Use the density slider to control how tightly the watermarks are packed. This is ideal for copyright protection since cropping cannot remove the watermark.
Can I watermark multiple images at once?
Yes. Switch to "Batch" mode to upload multiple images. The same watermark settings are applied to all images, and you can download them all as a ZIP file or individually.
What controls are available?
You can adjust opacity (0-100%), font size, text color, position (9-grid or tile), rotation angle (-45 to 45 degrees), and tile density. All changes preview in real-time before you commit.
Which image formats are supported?
You can watermark JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. The output keeps the same format as your original file.
Is my image data private?
Image watermarking happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images are not uploaded to our servers during processing.
Can I watermark images on my phone?
Yes. All controls — text input, sliders, position grid, tile mode — work with touch input on iOS and Android browsers. Batch mode lets you watermark up to 20 images at once from your camera roll.
How does this compare to watermark apps or Photoshop?
This tool is built for direct browser-based watermarking with 9-grid placement, tile mode, and batch export. Dedicated editors may offer broader image editing controls, while this workflow is more focused on quickly applying visible watermarks.
Can I remove the watermark after applying it?
No. Once you download the watermarked image, the watermark is permanently baked into the pixels. Always keep your unwatermarked originals. Use our Image Cropper only if the watermark is in a corner you can afford to cut.
What watermark opacity is commonly used for copyright protection?
For visible protection, many people start around 20-40% opacity so the watermark is noticeable without overwhelming the image. Tile mode often works well around 15-25% when you want coverage across the frame. Below 5%, the tool warns that the watermark may be hard to see.
Can I use a transparent PNG as a watermark image?
Yes. Upload any PNG with transparency as the watermark image. The transparent areas will show the original photo through. This is ideal for logo watermarks.
Can I compress the watermarked image to reduce file size?
The output keeps the original format and quality. For further compression, run the watermarked image through our Image Compressor or convert it to WebP for 25-35% smaller files.
