An unrolled cognac leather pen case laid open on a warm linen tablecloth, holding vintage fountain pens in individual leather loops — a writing kit rolled up and ready to travel

The whole loop, one right-click away.

Check any passage for AI tells, then humanize, rewrite, or grammar-check it — from the right-click menu on any page. No tab switching, no copy-pasting, no signup wall.

v1.2.2 · August 2026No signup to start

Works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other Chromium browsers. Signup is not required to start.

Process

How it works.

01

Select text on any page

Highlight any text — an article, essay, email draft, or document. Works on Gmail, Notion, and most web apps.

02

Right-click or open the popup

Pick Detect AI, Humanize Text, Rewrite, or Grammar Check from the Coda One submenu. Ctrl+Shift+G detects and Ctrl+Shift+H humanizes without touching the mouse (Command+Shift on macOS).

03

Read the result in place

A floating bar appears at the bottom of the page with the output. Longer results open an inline modal with the full text — no tab switching, no copy-paste.

What's inside

Four tools, one extension.

Detect

See which sentences read like AI

Select any passage to see which phrases read as machine-written before you send it. Unlimited on the free plan, up to 3,000 words a check. It reads English style only, and says so rather than scoring a language it cannot judge.

Humanize

Make AI text sound like you wrote it

Select AI-generated text anywhere. Right-click → Humanize Text. Natural-sounding text replaces the selection in place. 3 free runs a day, up to 300 words each.

Rewrite

Say the same thing another way

For when the detector flags a passage and you would rather reword it than hand it to the humanizer. The context menu runs the standard mode; the other modes live in the web app. 3 free runs a day, up to 300 words each.

Grammar

Fix grammar without leaving the page

Highlight a sentence or paragraph, right-click, get corrections in a floating panel. Fixes spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and word choice. 3 free runs a day, up to 500 words each.

Starter leaves the detector's 3,000-word check where it is; Pro and Business remove the per-request cap entirely. Compare all plans.

Questions

What people ask before installing.

Is the Chrome extension free?
Yes. Install it free from the Chrome Web Store, no signup required. Detect AI is unlimited on the free plan (up to 3,000 words a check). Humanize, Rewrite and Grammar Check each give you 3 free uses a day — up to 300 words a run for Humanize and Rewrite, 500 for Grammar Check.
Do the free limits match the web version?
Yes. The extension calls the same API as codaone.ai, so it draws on the same allowance: unlimited Detect AI, and 3 uses a day each for Humanize, Rewrite and Grammar Check. A run in the extension counts against the same daily budget as a run on the website. The extension is just a faster way to trigger the same tools from any page.
Does it work on all websites?
It works on any webpage where you can select text, including Gmail, Notion, and most web apps. Where a page will not let the extension replace your selection in place — Google Docs, Overleaf — the result is copied to your clipboard instead. Some restricted sites (banking, etc.) may limit extensions.
Do I need a Coda One account?
No. The extension works without an account. Sign in at codaone.ai in the same browser and the extension picks up the session — that is what saves your runs to tool history and applies a paid plan.
What browsers are supported?
Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and any Chromium-based browser on version 114 or newer. Not available for Firefox or Safari.
How should I review Humanizer output before submitting?
Use the Humanizer first, then run the built-in Detector to review the result before submitting. We publish no pass rate against Turnitin, GPTZero or any other third-party detector, because their terms forbid the automated testing that would produce one. Treat any score as a signal for revision, not a guarantee.
Is my data private?
Text is sent to our servers for processing only. Signed out, it is processed and not kept. Signed in — the extension uses your codaone.ai session — Humanize, Rewrite and Grammar Check save the input and result to your tool history, which you can delete; Detect AI never does. Humanize, Rewrite and Grammar Check pass your text to a third-party model provider to produce the rewrite; Detect AI is scored entirely on our own servers. Full detail in the privacy policy.
How do I upgrade?
Click the extension icon and select "Upgrade". Paid plans start at $9.99/month and are paid by card through Stripe.
Can I use it on mobile?
Chrome extensions do not work on mobile browsers. Use the web tools at codaone.ai instead — Detect AI, Humanize, Rewrite and Grammar Check all run in a mobile browser, and the extension carries nothing the website does not.
What changed in v1.2.2?
The August 2026 release matches the extension to the product. Translate and Word Count were removed and the AI Rewriter took their place, so the right-click menu is Detect AI, Humanize Text, Rewrite and Grammar Check. Detect also changed what it shows: instead of a percentage and a one-word label, it names the phrases it flagged and why — hedging filler, formulaic connectors — with the score kept as a secondary figure. And "Humanize it" now rewrites the passage where you selected it, rather than opening this site in a new tab. Signing in also works properly at last: every tool call from the extension used to be anonymous, so a paid plan lifted your daily cap on the website but not in the browser. It does both now.
