Humanizer Strength

Humanizer strength (sometimes called aggressiveness, intensity, or humanization level) is a configurable parameter that controls the magnitude of transformation applied to input text. A low strength setting produces minimal changes — swapping a few predictable word choices, lightly adjusting sentence structure — while preserving the original wording almost exactly. A high strength setting restructures sentences extensively, replaces a larger share of vocabulary, and can substantially shift the text's reading flow.

The tradeoff is straightforward. Higher strength more reliably defeats AI detectors because it disrupts more of the statistical signature that detectors pattern-match on. But higher strength also carries greater risk of semantic drift — the output may no longer mean exactly what the input meant, requiring more careful human review. For factual, technical, or citation-heavy content, low or medium strength is typically the better choice; for marketing copy, blog posts, or casual prose, higher strength is often safe.

Coda One's Humanizer has no strength control. It offers named modes instead, on the view that "Academic" and "Informal" tell you what you are going to get in a way that "7 out of 10" does not. Users processing legal language will rationally choose differently than users processing a personal blog post. The best workflow is to start at medium strength, check the detection score and the meaning preservation, and escalate or de-escalate from there.
