ZeroGPT gained popularity as one of the early AI detection tools, and it has since grown into a broad free suite: alongside the detector it ships a humanizer, paraphraser, grammar checker, summarizer, plagiarism checker, translator and image and video detectors, at no cost and with no signup.

Coda One is much narrower — four tools around one loop — and on breadth this is not a close comparison. If you want the most free tools for nothing, take ZeroGPT and do not pay us. How does Coda One compare with ZeroGPT?
ZeroGPT is the broader free product — fifteen tools against our four, including a plagiarism checker and image and video detection we do not offer. Coda One is narrower and does one loop: find the sentences in your draft that read as machine-written, then fix them. The difference worth choosing on is evidence, not breadth: we publish our detector's measured error rates and they publish a marketing accuracy figure.
Is ZeroGPT free?
Yes, and generously so — no signup, and their scan box accepts 15,000 characters at a time. Coda One's detector is also free with no daily limit, at 3,000 words per check. On free detection alone there is no strong reason to pick us over them.
How should I compare detector quality?
Ask each vendor for a false positive rate, a false negative rate and the corpus they came from. We publish all three at /ai-detector/accuracy: 4% FPR, 96% FNR, ROC AUC 0.41 on 48 adversarial samples, with every sample sourced. ZeroGPT publishes a 98%+ accuracy claim without a reproducible method. Take the number that comes with a method, even when it is the uglier number — and then treat the result as an indicator, never as proof of authorship.
Can ZeroGPT detect humanized AI text?
Probably not reliably, and neither can we — this is the failure case for the whole category. Our own benchmark includes three samples produced by our own humanizer, and the engine's false negative rate across the corpus is 96%. Any detector telling you it catches humanized text is making a claim it cannot show you the working for. We cannot tell you how ZeroGPT does on it, because we have no measurement of their engine.
Which is easier to use?
Both are paste-and-analyze. ZeroGPT shows a single percentage; Coda One shows the four weighted signals behind the score — sentence-length statistics, AI phrase patterns, dash density and tricolon rhythm — plus which one is holding the score up. That is more useful if you want to know why a sentence was flagged, and more clutter if you only want a number.
Does either tool store my submitted text?
Coda One processes text server-side. Signed out, it is processed and not kept; signed in, the input and result are saved to your tool history, which you can delete from the dashboard at any time. ZeroGPT's privacy policy covers usage data but is vague about text submissions. Either way, avoid pasting confidential material (passwords, proprietary data, personal information) into any detector, including ours.
Can I integrate either tool into my own app or workflow?
ZeroGPT offers a paid API for programmatic integration. Coda One's API is on the roadmap but not yet available. If you need to run AI detection at scale within your own application -- such as screening submissions automatically -- ZeroGPT's API is currently the only option between the two.
